Carrot Turbo

Why «Turbo» is the Professional Choice for Long-term Storage

The «Turbo» carrot from the French breeding house Clause is a benchmark of reliability for those growing for the market and aiming to keep their produce presentable until spring. In today’s competitive market, where appearance dictates price, this Nantes-type hybrid offers the predictability often lacking in other varieties.

Agronomic Advantages

Unlike early-maturing varieties, «Turbo» does not compete in harvest speed, focusing instead on structural quality. A 110–120 day vegetation period allows the root to reach an optimal mass of 150–200 grams with a vibrant orange color while maintaining internal density.

• Shape Stability: The 18–20 cm long cylindrical roots are highly uniform, which significantly simplifies automated washing and packaging processes.
• Storage Potential: The hybrid's main strength is its shelf life, lasting up to 6–8 months. Its firm skin and disease resistance during storage make it a favorite for farmers supplying retail chains.
• Flavor Profile: Despite its focus on the «fresh market» and transportability, «Turbo» possesses excellent dessert-like flavor, setting it apart from harsher processing varieties.

Who is this hybrid for?

«Turbo» is designed for growers who prioritize professional storage and supply during the winter and spring seasons. It is a forgiving variety that allows for minor harvesting delays without sacrificing root integrity. A potential drawback is its soil sensitivity: like all Nantes types, «Turbo» thrives in loose, sandy loam soils; in heavy clay, its length potential may not be fully realized.
