Onion Rambo

Technical Potential of the Rambo Variety

Italian breeding from Maraldi Sementi S.A.S. Di Maraldi Daniele offers the market a highly specialized tool for high-quality salad onion production. The Rambo hybrid is engineered to ensure stable yields in environments where soil-borne pathogens represent a primary operational risk.

Biological Protection and Morphology

The core advantage of this hybrid is its robust resistance to a complex of soil-borne infections. The genetic profile includes defense mechanisms against Fusarium and various types of root rot. Practically, this translates into reduced fungicide application costs when cultivating in high-pressure soils. Morphologically, the plant develops an uniform round bulb, weighing between 130 and 140 grams, protected by a light-brown skin, which ensures excellent transportability and retail appeal.

Agronomic Metrics and Storage

With a maturation cycle of 90–100 days, Rambo is classified as a mid-season hybrid. In the salad onion production sector, this variety serves the segment of fresh-market produce suitable for storage for 4–5 months post-harvest. Under intensive fertilization, the bulb mass consistently reaches the upper threshold of 140 grams while maintaining the structural density required for successful long-term storage in professional facilities.
