Onion Ranko

Growing «Ranko» by Cora Seeds: Practical Insights

Working with this onion variety requires understanding its specific profile: it is a mid-early hybrid with a growth cycle of 90–100 days. In the field, «Ranko» behaves consistently, which is a major advantage for commercial growers targeting both fresh markets and processing facilities. The Italian breeding expertise of Cora Seeds is evident in the uniformity of the bulbs: they are rounded and highly consistent in size, which streamlines mechanical harvesting and post-harvest grading.

On-farm Performance

• Cultivation: The maturation period fits perfectly within the early season window. The hybrid responds well to irrigation but remains resilient, maintaining a sturdy neck that resists moisture issues when managed correctly.
• Harvest and Presentation: The bronze-yellow outer skin adheres tightly to the crisp, white flesh. The bulb develops an attractive appearance during curing, making it highly competitive for retail packaging.
• Storage: With a storage shelf life of 3–4 months, «Ranko» is designed for swift turnover. It is best suited for producers looking to clear inventory shortly after harvest.

For the farmer who values predictability, this onion is a reliable asset. You get a clean, high-quality product that flows easily through packing lines and meets market demands due to its excellent internal texture and visual appeal.
