Onion SCAPINO F1

Efficiency and Storage: The Core Strengths

SKAPINO F1, developed by the Dutch breeding company Nickerson Zwaan, is a high-performance hybrid designed for commercial onion production. It is engineered specifically for farms that prioritize mechanized harvesting and demand high-quality produce capable of withstanding long-term storage.

Field Performance and Disease Resistance

For growers facing phytosanitary challenges, SKAPINO F1 offers a robust defense system. Its high genetic resistance to root rot and Fusarium ensures that crop density remains optimal throughout the season. With a recommended seeding density of 1000–1100 thousand seeds/ha, the hybrid produces a uniform crop that is perfectly suited for modern mechanical harvesting equipment.

Economic Advantages

• Yield Potential: With a yield reaching 90–100 tons/ha, this hybrid maximizes the return on investment for intensive fertilization and crop protection programs.
• Commercial Appeal: The 160–170g bulbs feature a perfect round shape and a attractive bronze-yellow skin, making them ideal for both processing lines and retail packaging.
• Market Flexibility: Thanks to its 10–12% dry matter content, SKAPINO F1 exhibits excellent storage life (7–8 months). This allows producers to bypass harvest-time price volatility and supply the market during the peak demand period in winter and spring.

SKAPINO F1 is the strategic choice for agricultural enterprises looking to stabilize their business model through automation and high-quality, storage-stable produce.
