Peso F1 Onion — a medium-maturing hybrid for long-day conditions, developed by the Dutch seed company Bejo Zaden. From germination to harvest, it takes approximately 106–115 days. This variety is characterized by high yield — 20 to 30 tons per hectare — and uniform, large, round bulbs with dense, elastic scales. The average bulb weight ranges from 150 to 250 grams. Inner scales are thick, succulent, and meaty, without hollows, ensuring excellent product quality. The onion flavor is moderately spicy with a slight sweetness, dry matter content reaches about 9.5%, and it is rich in essential oils and phytoncides.

The main feature of the Peso hybrid is its high resistance to fungal and bacterial diseases, as well as the absence of bolting, which significantly simplifies cultivation and improves harvest quality. Its well-developed, highly branched root system, along with large dark-green leaves, enables the plant to actively grow even under high temperatures and intense sunlight. Due to these characteristics, this variety is recommended for cultivation in arid southern regions where regular irrigation is not available.
