| Hybrid of medium-late maturing, semi-compact, bulbous onion. Harvest matures on day 115-120 after emergence, enabling harvesting and drying before the rainy season begins. Proper harvesting and drying conditions allow storage for over 6 months. Bulb is perfectly round, golden-brown, averaging 110-200g with relatively small diameter (in sparse plantings and with enhanced nutrition, bulb weight reaches 400-500g). Inner scales are thick, very juicy and crunchy. Exceptionally high yielding. At planting density of 30-45 plants per square meter, 50% of bulbs have diameter over 12 cm. At density of 50 plants per sq.m, up to 90% have diameter 10-12 cm. Highest tolerance to pink rot and fusarium. Recommended for cultivation between 45° and 50°. This is why it is used for producing ultra-large bulbs (up to 800 g). In 2000-2005, on test and production plots in Crimea, Kyiv, Odesa, Kherson, Cherkasy and other regions, yielded 38 (on bare soil), 38-70 (normal irrigation), 70-120 (drip irrigation, seedlings) tons per hectare. In more northern areas, early planting is advised. |
