Onion Zvezda

Technical Profile: Chive Variety «Zvezda»

The «Zvezda» chive variety is a perennial cultivar developed through the collaborative efforts of Agrofirma Poisk and federal research centers. Unlike common bulb onions, this variety is engineered specifically for vegetative propagation and maximizing biomass output, focusing on high-density foliage production.

Structural Morphology

• Growth Habit: A perennial herb characterized by robust tillering capacity.
• Foliage: Fine, tubular, awl-shaped leaves protected by a medium-density waxy layer, which acts as a physiological barrier against moisture loss and environmental stress.
• Root System: A vigorous fibrous root structure designed for rapid recovery post-harvest, supporting multiple cutting cycles within a single growing season.

Operational Advantages

The engineering focus for «Zvezda» resides in its metabolic efficiency. By bypassing the development of a large bulb, the plant directs total nutrient intake into leaf production, ensuring consistent quality and flavor profiles. From an agronomic standpoint, this variety is optimized for long-term production cycles. Its inherent biological resilience allows for a continuous harvest schedule, starting from early spring and lasting until the onset of significant cold weather. The combination of structural stability and rapid regrowth makes «Zvezda» a high-performance selection for consistent professional crop management.
