Description Star
The 'Star' onion or Persian onion (Allium christophii), also known as Turkmen onion, is a striking perennial plant with large spherical flower heads up to 25 cm in diameter. The pale violet flowers with a metallic sheen form star-shaped inflorescences, giving the plant a unique decorative appearance. The plant reaches a height of 40-60 cm, and the flowering period occurs in May-June or June-July, making it an excellent decoration for flower beds and gardens. Dried inflorescences are widely used in dry compositions and arrangements.

For successful cultivation of 'Star', loose, nutritious, and moist soil without water stagnation is recommended. The plant prefers sunny locations but develops best in light partial shade. Seeds are best sown in autumn on prepared beds, and when sowing in February-March, containers with seedlings should be buried and covered with snow to ensure optimal germination conditions. Adult plants are propagated by bulbils or division, and with seed propagation, flowering occurs after 2-6 years.

The package contains 50 bulbs approximately 14 cm in diameter, each capable of growing into a beautiful plant. Instructions for cultivation are included, which facilitates care and planting. Thanks to its decorative qualities and hardiness, 'Star' onion is excellent for creating striking group plantings in rock gardens and mixed borders.
