PATRAN

PATRAN is a variety of shallot included in the State Register of the Russian Federation for growing in household plots. It is intended for growing bulb onions in a two-year culture from seed onions and is distinguished by an early maturity period. The period from germination to mass leaf drooping is 80-96 days, which allows for obtaining a harvest in a short time. The bulbs of the PATRAN variety are round, dense, with a thin neck, have a light-brown color of dry scales and a white color with a greenish tint of fleshy scales. The average number of dry scales is 3-4, and the number of bulbs in a clump varies from 4 to 7.

The yield of the variety is from 2.7 to 3.6 kg per square meter, at the same time, the ripeness of bulbs before harvesting reaches 96%, and after after-ripening — 100%. The leaves of the plant grow up to 35 cm in length and are covered with a medium waxy bloom. The dry matter content in bulbs is 18.5%, and the total sugar level is 11.9%. The taste of the onion is sharp, which makes it attractive for use in cooking. Due to its characteristics, the PATRAN variety is suitable for growing in the conditions of household plots and ensures a stable and quality harvest.
