The Arsenii Onion is an early-maturing variety of shallot recommended for cultivation in biennial culture from seed onions. The plant's leaves have a green color with a pronounced waxy coating and reach a length of up to 54 cm, which promotes good photosynthesis and bulb development. The bulbs are round and differ in the tight fitting of dry covering scales, which are brown in color, while the fleshy scales are white. One bulb contains from 5 to 6 dry scales and 10-12 buds, and 6-7 bulbs form in a cluster, which ensures high yield. The Arsenii variety is characterized by a semi-sharp taste and high ripeness before harvest, reaching 99%. The onion yield is 132 centners per hectare, which makes this variety attractive for commercial cultivation. The onion stores well for up to 330 days, which allows for its use over a long period without loss of quality. Moreover, the variety has high winter hardiness of up to 95%, which ensures its resistance to unfavorable climatic conditions. Arsenii is suitable for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including Northern, Northwestern, Central, Volga-Vyatsk, Central-Black-Earth, North-Caucasian, Middle-Volga, Lower-Volga, Ural, Western-Siberian, Eastern-Siberian and Far Eastern. This variety was included in the State Register in 2022 and is the result of the selection of the company LLC 'Heterosis Selection'. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, the onion Arsenii is a reliable choice for farmers and gardeners.
