Shallot of the 'Altai Gold' variety is a high-yielding and early-maturing variety, specifically created for growing in Siberia and Western Siberia conditions. The vegetation period from the mass growth of bulbs to harvesting is about 50-52 days, which allows for an early harvest. The average weight of a marketable bulb reaches 30.5 grams, and the shape of the bulbs is round with yellow dry scales and a white fleshy layer.

The variety is characterized by high yield: the marketable yield of bulbs is on average 25.8 tons per hectare, and green onions — 27.3 tons per hectare. The onion has a semi-sharp taste and contains a significant amount of vitamin C in the green leaves — 52.53 mg%. In addition, the dry matter content in bulbs reaches 18.18%, which contributes to good storage and product quality.
