Onion Goblin

Technical Insights into the "Goblin" Hybrid

The onion variety "Goblin" from the Dutch breeder Enza Limited is engineered for high-intensity commercial farming where efficiency and volume are the primary benchmarks. With a maturity window of up to 90 days, this hybrid offers a competitive edge in the early-season market, balancing rapid growth with consistent quality.

Key Specifications and Operational Performance

• Yield Capacity: Achieving a yield exceeding 100 tons per hectare requires precision in fertilization, which this hybrid is specifically bred to convert into high-quality biomass.
• Structural Integrity: The spherical shape of the bulb facilitates high-speed mechanical harvesting and reduces downtime in sorting and packing facilities due to its uniform geometry.
• Storage and Handling: The light brown outer skin provides robust protection against physical damage during transit, ensuring the product arrives in prime condition.

The operational versatility of "Goblin" makes it a dual-purpose asset. Its flavor profile makes it suitable for fresh market salads, while its structural uniformity is highly prized in the processing industry. Automated peeling and slicing lines can be calibrated with high precision for this cultivar, significantly reducing waste. For the commercial grower, "Goblin" represents a predictable, high-output solution that leverages Dutch genetic expertise to maximize profitability in the field.
