Onion Kira

Italian Breeding for Record Yields

"Kira" onion from the Italian company Isi Sementi S.P.A. is a solution for those who prioritize intensive production and stable results. In the bulb onion segment, this variety stands out primarily for its aggressive yield, reaching the mark of 100 tons per hectare. For professional farms, this means the ability to get the maximum return from every square meter of sown area.

Agronomic Profile and Protection

The main headache for farmers when growing onions is fungal diseases that can destroy a crop in a matter of days. "Kira" demonstrates high resistance to downy mildew, which significantly reduces pesticide load and fungicide costs. Resistance to powdery mildew makes it a reliable choice for regions with humid climates, where the risk of pathogen development is traditionally high.

• Ripening period: up to 90 days, allowing for planned, consistent supplies.
• Bulb shape: ideal rounded shape, ensuring convenience during transport and pre-sale preparation.
• Harvesting: adapted for manual harvesting, which guarantees the preservation of appearance and minimal damage to the skin.

Who is this variety for?

"Kira" is optimal for farmers focused on the early and mid-early market. Given the intensive pace of vegetation (up to 3 months), this onion fits perfectly into crop rotation and allows fields to be cleared earlier than competing mid-late varieties. High yield potential makes it attractive for farms with well-established irrigation and fertigation systems, where the variety can fully unleash its genetic potential.
