The Wolf F1 onion is an early-maturing winter hybrid of bulb onion developed by Hazera from the Netherlands. This variety is valued for its high marketability and resilience to adverse conditions, making it especially popular for cultivation in southern Ukraine. The plant features a strong root system and well-developed leaf apparatus, ensuring active growth even at low temperatures and under unfavorable weather conditions. The onion has a semi-sharp flavor, and its bulbs have a round shape, diameter ranging from 65 to 80 mm, and weight from 140 to 200 grams. The outer scales are golden in color, and the inner layers are juicy and white. One of the key features of Wolf F1 is its high cold resistance and resistance to bolting, enabling the plant to successfully overwinter and actively grow in spring. The hybrid does not bolt, which contributes to obtaining high-quality marketable produce without additional care. Moreover, the variety exhibits high resistance to common onion diseases, reducing the need for regular treatments and watering. The vegetation period is approximately 260-280 days, ensuring early harvest. Wolf F1 can be grown in all types of soil, with an optimal planting density of 1-1.2 million seeds per hectare. It is recommended to space plants 10 cm apart with rows spaced about 20 cm apart. Spring planting depth is 3-5 cm, while winter planting depth is 6-10 cm. The onion pairs well with crops such as cabbage, beet, carrots, and tomatoes, allowing efficient use of beds and increased yields. Despite the high cost of seeds, the final result justifies the investment due to the quality and reliability of the hybrid.
