Onion NUN 7002 ON

Strategic Choice for High-Yield Onion Production

For agribusinesses focused on maximizing output per hectare, the NUN 7002 OH hybrid from Nunhems serves as a critical asset. Designed for professional onion farming, this hybrid offers a yield potential exceeding 100 tonnes per hectare, making it a competitive choice for intensive agricultural operations.

Field Performance and Disease Resistance

Managing soil-borne pathogens is the biggest challenge in commercial onion production. The NUN 7002 OH hybrid provides a robust shield with its genetic resistance to pink root rot, Fusarium, and other common rots. This innate resilience allows farmers to optimize their fungicide programs, reducing both chemical costs and the risk of crop failure. With a growing cycle of up to 90 days, it allows for efficient scheduling, ensuring timely harvests before autumn weather conditions deteriorate.

Marketability and Storage

With its attractive light-brown skin, NUN 7002 OH meets the aesthetic requirements of both wholesale buyers and retail chains. Beyond appearance, the bulb's structural density ensures long-term storage viability. This capability gives producers the flexibility to hold inventory post-harvest, allowing them to wait for favorable market conditions rather than selling during the peak supply window.

• High yield potential reaching over 100 tons per hectare.
• Strong genetic defense against Fusarium and pink root rot.
• Uniform bulb size, ideal for automated harvesting and processing.
