Onion Grin

A Reliable Choice for Commercial Greens

Green onion (bunching onion) variety 'Green' is a professional solution for large-scale operations focused on high-quality production. Developed by the Federal Research Center Institute of Cytology and Genetics, this variety is specifically engineered for commercial salad-grade harvest within a 90-day growth cycle.

Field Performance and Disease Resistance

In intensive farming, soil-borne diseases often lead to significant crop failure. The 'Green' variety stands out due to its high genetic resistance to Fusarium wilt and pink root rot. For growers, this translates into reduced fungicide applications and lower production risks, especially in regions with high pathogen pressure.

• Harvest Timeline: Ready for harvest within 90 days, allowing for reliable seasonal production cycles.
• Market Quality: As a salad-type onion, it offers a delicate, mild flavor and excellent visual appeal, which are essential for retail distribution.
• Plant Health: Built-in resistance against major root rots simplifies soil management and ensures high crop uniformity.

Choosing 'Green' allows producers to maintain consistent supply levels throughout the season. The uniform, deep green leaves hold up well during transport, ensuring that the final product reaches the consumer with optimal turgor and freshness. By integrating this variety, farms can optimize their crop rotation and focus on maximizing yields rather than constant disease management.
