DARK HORSE

DARK HORSE is an early-maturing universal-purpose onion hybrid that can be grown as an annual crop or from sets under long and medium day conditions. It takes 70-75 days from planting sets to the mass drooping of leaves, which allows for a quick harvest. The onion is single-lobed with a single-two-embryo structure, ensuring stable bulb formation.

The bulbs are round and feature significant sizes: when grown from seeds, the mass is 80-100 grams with a diameter of 6-7 cm, and when grown from sets, 150-200 grams with a diameter of 8-10 cm. The dry skins of the bulb are dark purple, with a quantity varying from 2 to 3. The juicy skins are white with a dark red epidermis, and the neck is thin. The onion taste is semi-sharp, making it versatile for various culinary purposes. The dry substance content is within 12-13%, and total sugar is 6.2-6.5%.

The hybrid is distinguished by high maturity: prior to harvesting it is 89-93%, and after curing reaches 99-100%. The onion's marketability is high, making it attractive for sale. Additionally, DARK HORSE is suitable for prolonged storage, allowing to maintain quality and freshness of the product for a long time. The yield is 5-6 kg per square meter, indicating high productivity of the variety.
