Assila 1001 F1 is a high-yielding, mid-season hybrid of white bulb onion, developed by the Italian breeding company Esasem. The vegetation period is approximately 110-115 days, allowing cultivation both in open ground and under cover in various agroclimatic conditions. The plant features vigorous growth, strong development energy, and resistance to adverse factors, diseases, and pests, ensuring stable yields.
The bulbs of Assila onion have a round shape with a diameter of 7 to 10 cm and an average weight of 150 to 300 grams. The bulbs are covered with glossy white scales, and the flesh is also white, crisp, and firm. The flavor is described as mild, moderately spicy with a slight sweetness, making this onion particularly appealing for use in fresh dishes. At harvest time, the neck becomes thin, facilitating harvesting.
The hybrid has good transportability and is suitable for short-term storage, allowing the product to retain quality during transport and sale. Assila F1 demonstrates high marketability and uniformity of bulbs, as well as tolerance to dense planting, which promotes efficient use of sowing area. The recommended planting density is approximately 1 million plants per hectare, ensuring a yield of about 100 tons per hectare.
