Onion Francisco

The Franzisco onion variety is a medium-early, high-yielding type with a vegetative period of about 110 days from germination. The bulbs of this variety have a round shape, a diameter of 55 to 95 mm, and a weight of 150-180 grams. Their distinguishing feature is a golden-brown color with thin, dense outer scales, providing excellent quality and long-term storage. The flavor is sharp, and the heads are medium-sized, making it suitable for various culinary purposes.

The plant is robust, with a well-developed light-green leafy canopy and a deep root system, contributing to its resilience and high productivity. The variety is suitable for cultivation under various soil-climate conditions, including all regions of Ukraine, and is recommended for mechanized harvesting. The optimal sowing density is 1.0 to 1.2 million seeds per hectare, or 70-120 plants per square meter.

Franzisco onion is intended for both fresh market and processing, and it stores well in specially equipped facilities for up to 6-8 months, allowing its use until early April.
