Sort-defining characteristics. Variety type: silica-dentate (ssp. semidenta). Plant height 290-300 cm. Ear attachment height 100-110 cm. Leaf number 17-18. Ear length 25-27 cm. Row number of kernels 16-18. Grain yield 84-85%. Ear stalk red. 1000 kernel weight 300-310 g.
Biological characteristics. Maturity group Medium-early FAO 310. Duration from emergence to full maturity 116-118 days. Early growth rapid. Cold resistance high. Drought resistance high. Resistance to lodging high. Resistance to ear drooping high. Resistance to aerial smut high. Resistance to bubble smut high. Resistance to stalk rot high. Resistance to corn borer high.
Agronomic characteristics. Potential grain yield 13.0-13.5 t/ha. Recommended planting density for Steppe 45-50 thousand/ha and for Forest-steppe 55-60 thousand/ha. Harvest moisture 27-25%. Potential green mass yield 53.0-58.0 t/ha. Dry matter content in green mass 31-32%. Protein content in grain 10.5%. Starch content 75.6%.
Hybrid seed production is conducted on sterile M-type basis according to full restoration scheme without panicle abortion. Sterility of maternal form 99-100%. Optimal planting scheme for parental forms on hybridization sites 12:4 and 6:2. Seed plots require high level of agrotechnics, weed control, and nutrient conditions. Seed yield under favorable conditions 2.5-3.0 t/ha.
