Operational Characteristics

The flint-dent grain type offers excellent moisture release during ripening, which is critical for reducing post-harvest processing (drying) costs. A starch content of 75% makes it attractive both for elevator sales and for on-farm livestock feed. The 110–120 day vegetation period allows for flexible harvest planning, while the FAO 190–240 range (depending on conditions) provides agility in sowing schedules.

Resilience and Phytosanitary Background

The primary concern for any corn field owner is pathogens and pests. With "Zlagoda MV," the situation is simplified: the hybrid demonstrates high tolerance to common smut and stalk rot. This means savings on fungicide treatments, while the stalk remains strong right up to harvest, reducing losses from lodging. Furthermore, resistance to the European corn borer noticeably eases field management by reducing the need for aggressive insecticide protection.
