Mint "Udaychan" is a hybrid variety obtained by crossing Mentha canadensis L. and Mentha longifolia L., which is characterized by high yield and rich menthol content in the essential oil.
In cultivated form, each plot yields about 115 c/ha of green mass, and when dried to 14% moisture, approximately 15.5 c/ha of dry leaves. The mass contains 4.5% to 6% essential oil, from which an average of 55-56% menthol is extracted. This makes the variety especially valuable for the production of aromatic oils and food additives.
Udaychan exhibits winter hardiness, resistance to rust, and is suitable for both annual and biennial cultivation. Thanks to its bright menthol taste, it is widely used as a food seasoning, tea ingredient, and flavoring for various products.
The variety belongs to the peppermint direction, which ensures its good adaptation to different climatic conditions and increases yield compared to traditional mint varieties. Thanks to high indicators of menthol and essential oil content, it is a preferred choice for manufacturers of natural aromatic oils and food products.
