Description
Mint 'Yasnaya Nochka' – a perennial medicinal plant with upright branching stems up to 65 cm high and oval green leaves, slightly tinted with anthocyanins. The leaves have a bright menthol aroma, while the flowers are small, pink, and gathered in an elongated inflorescence.
The variety is characterized by medium ripening: from germination to the beginning of flowering, the first year takes 95–110 days, after which the greens can be used from late April and throughout the season. The yield of green mass is approximately 1.4–2 kg/m².
In cooking, leaves and young shoots are used as seasonings in salads, soups, meat, fish, and vegetable dishes, as well as for aromatizing beverages. In folk medicine, mint 'Yasnaya Nochka' is used as a calming, antiseptic, and analgesic agent; its decoctions aid digestion, lower blood pressure, relieve breathing difficulties during colds and bronchitis, and are also used for stomach spasms, flatulence, and other conditions. Leaves can be consumed both fresh and dried, adding aroma and beneficial properties to various dishes.
