GOLDEN NIVA

The 'Golden Niva' millet variety is mid-late maturing and was bred by Russian breeders of the Federal Altai Center of Agrobiotechnology. It is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus, Lower Volga, and Urals regions of Russia, as well as in the Kostanay region of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The vegetation period ranges from 65 to 95 days, ripening simultaneously with the standard 'Saratovskoye zheloye' or slightly later. The panicle is of medium length, compressed, with branches diverging at the lower part; the grain is round with dark cream or dark yellow floral husks, and the unpolished grain is yellow.

The variety is distinguished by high yield, which varies across different regions from 17.9 to 32.4 centners per hectare, with maximum indicators reaching 59.9 ц/га. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 6.7 to 9.8 grams, indicating the grain's size and good quality. 'Golden Niva' is resistant to lodging, shedding, and drought, and also possesses high adaptability to unfavorable weather conditions. Moreover, the variety is resistant to races 1 and 2 of head smut, which enhances its reliability in agro-technology.

The quality and technological indicators of the variety are at a high level: protein content reaches 13.4%, hulling is about 20%, and grain uniformity reaches 85%. These characteristics make millet 'Golden Niva' a valuable raw material for culinary use and processing. Due to its properties and resistance to diseases and pests, this variety is a promising choice for agricultural production in the indicated regions.
