Millet ILICHIVSKOE

Stable yields in challenging conditions

When selecting millet seeds, agronomists are increasingly looking at the 'Ilyichevskoye' variety. Developed by the A.K. Chayka Federal Research Center for Agrobiotechnological Systems of the Far East, this variety has established itself as a reliable workhorse for farms that want to minimize risks related to grain quality and disease. The main argument for choosing this variety is its genetic resistance to smut (head smut). In the field, this translates to predictability: you won't lose a significant portion of your harvest due to panicle damage, which is crucial in regions with high humidity or unpredictable climates.

Field operations and management

Working with 'Ilyichevskoye' is straightforward thanks to its uniformity in height and maturation timing. The variety is resistant to lodging, which significantly simplifies the task for combine operators during harvest: grain losses at the header are minimized, and the machinery’s throughput is utilized as efficiently as possible. There is no need to frequently adjust the threshing mechanism due to crop inconsistency, saving valuable time during peak season.

• Resistance: High immunity to smut reduces the need for excessive fungicide applications.
• Technical adaptability: The variety responds well to standard agronomic practices, showing high returns even with moderate fertilizer application rates.
• Reliability: The research center has ensured high adaptability to the harsh climate of the Far East, making it suitable for regions with challenging agricultural conditions.

If you are looking for a crop that requires minimal maintenance while guaranteeing grain purity, this variety is a rational addition to your crop rotation.
