Millet ZARYANA

A Breeding Breakthrough in Crop Protection

The «Zaryana» millet variety, developed by the Volga Research Institute of Agriculture (a branch of Samara Federal Research Center of the RAS), is highly regarded by agronomists for its specific genetic resistance. Unlike many commercial analogs, this variety demonstrates pronounced resistance to loose smut. For regions where soil and climatic conditions trigger fungal infections, choosing this variety is not just an option, but an agrotechnical necessity.

Key Benefits

• Phytosanitary Effect: A high threshold of resistance to pathogens reduces the need for preventive fungicide applications, which is critical for sustainable farming.
• Genetic Stability: Breeding by A. K. Antimonov and K. A. Antimonov ensures predictable germination and uniform ripening.
• Adaptability: The variety is optimized for specific regional climates, making it a reliable performer with stable yields when crop rotation rules are followed.

Who is this variety for?

«Zaryana» is ideally suited for farming enterprises focused on reducing production costs through biological crop protection. It is a solution for those who are tired of battling smut with chemical methods and are looking for a variety capable of «holding its ground» independently. Despite its narrow specialization, this trait makes it a tool with a predictable economic outcome. The variety requires strict adherence to agrotechnological standards, but in return, it provides high-quality grain that is resistant to lodging and shedding.
