Sorghum grain variety ZARYANA® is a mid-season annual herbaceous crop designed for high yields. This variety features excellent agronomic characteristics, including a 1000-grain mass of 8.0 to 9.9 grams and plant height ranging from 70 to 100 cm. The grain is bright yellow in color with a round shape and red floral awns, which is a distinctive feature of this variety. Grain yield reaches 22.6 centners per hectare, making it attractive for agricultural cultivation.
Sorghum ZARYANA® possesses drought resistance at the standard level, allowing successful cultivation in the Middle Volga region conditions. However, the variety is susceptible to races 2 and 3 of head smut, which requires attention during agronomic activities. Thanks to a well-developed root system and rapid growth, sorghum is a heat-loving and drought-resistant crop, facilitating its adaptation to various climatic conditions.
Sorghum grain is widely used in the food industry for producing grits and flour, as well as in animal feed. Additionally, sorghum is used in the production of biofuels, specifically bioethanol. The ZARYANA® variety can also be used as a soil cover and green manure crop, and serves as a good predecessor for subsequent agricultural crops, making it a versatile and valuable element of agrotechnologies.
