The 'CAROTINICA' melon variety belongs to the mid-early group with a maturation period of about 70 days. The plant is trailing, which requires specific care and training. The fruits have an oval shape, yellow color with a smooth surface and a solid thick netting. Fruit weight varies from 1.3 to 2 kg. The flesh is dark orange, medium thickness, characterized by a crisp and juicy texture, as well as a very sweet and aromatic taste. This variety is valued for its high yield and excellent taste qualities. Growing 'CAROTINICA' melons is possible both by direct sowing seeds into open ground and through seedlings. Sowing for seedlings is recommended to be carried out at the end of April, and into the ground — in mid-May. Seedling transplant is carried out at an age of 30-35 days. When grown in open ground, plants are pinched above the 4-5 leaf, leaving 2-3 side shoots and no more than 4-5 fruits for optimal development. To prevent fruit spoilage from contact with the ground, it is recommended to place moisture-proof material underneath them. When grown under film cover, plants are trained to a single stem and tied to a trellis. Moreover, 'CAROTINICA' melon can be presented as a freeze-dried product, which preserves all useful vitamins — A, C, E, potassium, and antioxidants that support skin health, immunity, and the cardiovascular system. Thanks to the fiber content, freeze-dried melon improves digestion and helps cleanse the body. This product preserves maximum natural sweetness and aroma without the addition of sugar and preservatives, making it a healthy and delicious treat for gourmets.
