Zucchini GOLDEN PEACOCK

Technical potential of the 'Golden Peacock' hybrid

The breeding work of Alexey Anatolyevich Medvedev on the squash crop has resulted in a stable bush hybrid designed for premium-segment produce. 'Golden Peacock' was engineered as a solution for intensive farming, where vegetation predictability and morphological uniformity of the fruits are critical.

Morphological and technological parameters

• Bush architecture: The compact bush form ensures optimal planting density, simplifying maintenance mechanization and the harvesting process. Limited vine growth reduces the risk of overcrowding, ensuring proper aeration and illumination of the setting nodes.
• Fruit technology: The cylindrical geometry of the fruit promotes uniform nutrient distribution during growth. This minimizes the risk of deformation during soil moisture fluctuations.
• Marketable weight: The optimal operating range of 200–500 grams allows harvesting at the technical maturity stage, when the skin remains tender and the seed cavity is barely visible. This is a key factor for retail distribution.
• Color profile: The vivid golden-yellow color is the result of pigment selection resistant to ultraviolet light. This makes the fruits visually appealing to the end consumer and facilitates harvesting within the leaf mass.

This variety minimizes labor costs related to bush pruning. Due to its bush-type growth habit, the plant focuses resources on fruit development rather than vegetative mass, which is confirmed by high yields per square meter within the specified weight range.
