The Huruma melon is a hybrid mid-season variety with excellent taste qualities and good yield. The fruits have an oval shape, painted in orange-yellow color with a characteristic pattern of small yellow dots and covered by a thin dense mesh of linear and net structure. Each fruit weighs from 2.1 to 2.8 kg. The pulp is light orange, thick, tender, juicy and melting, with a pleasant taste and aroma of medium intensity. The seed cavity is small, the seeds are creamy-yellow, medium in size and have a shape different from cedar nut.
The plant is vine-like with a main whip of medium length and dark green leaves of average size that are slightly dissected. The yield of marketable fruits under film shelters reaches 6.9-7.2 kg per square meter, which ensures high productivity during cultivation. It is recommended to cultivate this variety in Ukraine, Moldova and Russia where it shows good results.
Huruma melon is suitable for fresh consumption due to its excellent taste and juicy pulp. In addition, it can be used for various types of processing, including cooking, drying and dehydration. For planting, a seeding rate of 2-3 grams per square meter is recommended, and for seedlings - 0.4-0.5 grams per square meter with a planting density of 40-55 plants per square meter, which contributes to obtaining a high yield.
