KUAN D

The Kuan d zucchini variety belongs to medium-late and early-maturing types, depending on growing conditions, and is characterized by high cold hardiness. The period from germination to fruiting ranges from 45 to 55 days. The plant can be grown either through seedling cultivation or direct sowing in the ground, allowing for flexible planting planning. Sowing for seedlings is recommended in April, followed by transplanting to the ground in May-June, while direct sowing should be done at the end of May or in June. The plant has a bush or semi-bush form, which facilitates care and harvest collection.

The fruits of the Kuan d variety are cylindrical with a slight taper towards the stem, measuring 21 to 28 cm in length and weighing between 0.8 to 1.5 kg. The fruit skin is thin, smooth, and pale green with intermittent dark green stripes. The flesh is white, dense, and tender, making the zucchini versatile for various culinary purposes. Young fruits 10-15 cm long can be used in salads instead of cucumbers. Large fruits harvested before frost and cold nights are well-stored in living quarters at temperatures not below 12°C until June-July.

The variety is resistant to diseases such as gray mold and powdery mildew, enhancing harvest reliability. Yield per plant can reach up to 12 kg, while marketable yield is 20.3-24.8 kg per square meter when following a planting scheme of 60x60 cm. The Kuan d zucchini responds well to the application of organic fertilizers, improving both fruit quality and quantity.
