Description ETHIOPEKA
Ethiopika melon is a mid-early domestic variety belonging to the Italian Reticulata type. Fruits ripen 70-80 days after seedling emergence, allowing farmers to quickly harvest. Plants form strong, compact bushes with short, thick vines and upturned leaves, contributing to their stability and ease of cultivation in open ground as well as under temporary covers in various regions of the country.

Ethiopika melon fruits are large, round, with a characteristic ribbed surface and a coarse golden-yellow netting. The weight of one melon is usually 3 to 3.5 kg, but specimens weighing up to 7 kg can be found. The flesh is dense, juicy, white or light yellow with a delicate green sheen, possessing a creamy texture and a honey-vanilla flavor. High taste qualities and rich aroma make this variety especially attractive to consumers. Moreover, fruits are noted for high transportability and excellent market appearance.

The variety is stress-resistant and immune to a wide range of diseases, including powdery mildew, perinosporosis, and melon aphid. Plants maintain growth rates even in hot and dry weather, ensuring stable yields from 15 to 50 tons per hectare. Each plant produces 5 to 6 fruits, making Ethiopika a profitable choice for commercial cultivation. Melon seeds are packaged in 250 grams, corresponding to approximately 5300-5500 seeds, with high germination and quality.
