THREE FRIENDS

Three Friends – a medium-sized shrub of blueberry honeysuckle with a height of 2–2.5 m and a wide, slightly spreading crown. The shoots are straight, of medium thickness, covered with a light fuzz and colored in pinkish-white shades. Leaves are egg-shaped, light green, smooth and matte, with slight fuzz.

The bush is distinguished by high frost resistance, heat resistance, and drought resistance, making it undemanding in care. It grows well on various types of soil under good lighting and regular watering. The fruits are elongated-oval berries of medium weight (1.4–1.6 g), about 3 cm in length, colored violet-blue with a whitish waxy bloom. The taste is sour-sweet and aromatic, with sugar content of 11.1%, acidity of 1.7%, and vitamin C of 60.72 mg.

The variety is self-pollinating, so it does not require neighboring with other pollinators. In the absence of trellises, the canes grow in different directions, occupying a lot of space, so sufficient space must be allocated for full development. The yield reaches 83 c/ha, and per bush – 2.5–3 kg. Berries can be consumed fresh, used in canning and freezing, due to good preservation on branches.

Three friends combines decorative flowering with practical value: the first berries appear as early as in June, and the variety is recognized as universal for various climatic conditions.
