The 'Milkovchan' honeysuckle is a Kamchatka variety bred at the Kamchatka Research Institute for Agricultural Sciences and recommended for cultivation in all regions of Russia, including the Moscow Region. It is a medium-sized bush with a slightly spreading habit and moderate density. The canes are upright, brownish-red, pubescent, flexible, and yellowish-brown in color. The leaves are round, small, green, matte, and slightly pubescent.
The berries are medium-sized (up to 1 cm in length, weight up to 1 gram), with an elongated oval shape, violet-blue skin, soft texture, and juicy pulp. The taste is sour-sweet with a pleasant aroma. The ripening period is medium, usually in mid-June; the berries do not drop during harvesting.
The variety is self-sterile, frost-resistant, disease-resistant, pest-resistant, has weak drooping, and high winter hardiness. The yield is about 1.5 kg per bush per year. The berries contain a complex of biologically active substances: vitamin C, carotene, thiamine, riboflavin, folic acid, as well as macro- and microelements. Sugar content is 8.1%, acidity is 2% (sugar/acid ratio 4.1).
