Description Laura
Lonicera caerulea L. 'LAURA' is a mid-season edible honeysuckle variety with universal properties and high yield. The bush is characterized by a strong, reverse-conical structure with dense shoots of medium length, curved and maroon-brown, without fluffy hairs. Leaves are dark green, elongated-oval, and the fruits are large spindle-shaped berries weighing about 1.02–1.1 g with a strong waxy bloom and a rich bluish hue. The berry has soft flesh, a sweet taste, and an aroma, while maintaining a slight dryness and detachment does not require effort.

The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and frost resistance, as well as good resistance to pests and diseases. Yield exceeds average levels – up to 1.5 kg of berries per bush and above, with moderate shattering. Berries are rich in biologically active substances: anthocyanins, ascorbic acid, B vitamins, sugars, organic acids, pectin, tannins, and coloring components.

'LAURA' is widely used in cooking and folk medicine. Juice from the berries is used in the treatment of warts and ulcers, as well as as a vessel-strengthening agent for hypertension and to improve the function of the gastrointestinal tract. Due to compact growth, bright blue flowers, and early fruit ripening, this variety is suitable for growing in various climatic conditions with minimal care requirements.
