Description
GORLINKA – a popular variety of honeysuckle (Lonicera caerulea L.), grown in the Ural region, characterized by large bottle-shaped blue berries with a sweet-sour taste. The variety ripens in mid-summer, usually by the end of June, making it convenient for harvesting fresh, as well as for freezing or further processing. The berries do not drop when ripening, have a medium skin thickness, and a dry separation, which facilitates their transportation and storage.
The GORLINKA bush is of medium height, reverse-conical with a dense crown, has strong shoots, and medium density. The leaves are lanceolate, green, slightly pubescent, and the shoots are curved with a drooping tip. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness (up to -45 °C), drought and heat resistance, as well as resistance to diseases and pests, ensuring stable yields in various climatic conditions.
The yield of GORLINKA is about 44.5 t/ha under intensive cultivation, and per bush - from 1.5 to 3 kg. The variety is self-sterile and is recommended to be planted next to other honeysuckle varieties to increase planting effectiveness. Due to the combination of taste qualities, high resistance to adverse conditions, and stable yield, GORLINKA is an excellent choice for both home gardens and commercial production of berry products.
