Description Provincialka
The Lonicera 'Provincialka' variety is one of the largest-fruiting types, cultivated in Russia since 2005. The bushes are of medium height, weak-growing and spreading, with curved shoots without pubescence. Leaves are large, green, of medium pubescence, and flowers are large, yellow, and resistant to spring frosts. The fruit peduncle is of medium length, green, and the receptacle is open.

Berries reach 2–3 g and have an elongated-oval shape with a dark blue tint and a waxy bloom. Inside – a sweet taste with a bright aroma; sugar content is about 11 %, acidity – 1.6 % and vitamin C – 30.3 mg/100 g. The tasting score of the variety is 5 points. Fruits do not drop, which ensures good transportability.

'Provincialka' is characterized by early ripening (June 21–30), high winter hardiness, drought resistance and heat resistance. The variety is self-sterile; if necessary, it can be pollinated by such varieties as 'Zolushka', 'Gerda', 'Goluboe Vereteno' or 'Ogenny Opal'. The yield in the first three years of fruiting is about 2 kg per bush (≈6.7 t/ha with a planting scheme of 3 × 1 m). Due to resistance to diseases and pests, 'Provincialka' is a reliable choice for gardeners and commercial plantations.
