Flax Kivika

Kivika Flax: A Specialized Choice for Textile Production

The 'Kivika' variety, developed by the Institute of Oilseed Crops of NAAS, is designed specifically for producers focusing on high-quality fiber for the textile industry. As demand for natural raw materials continues to grow in the Ukrainian industrial landscape, this variety offers a reliable way for agricultural enterprises to supply domestic and export manufacturing hubs.

Operational Strategy for Growers

Cultivating Kivika requires an approach centered on yield quality rather than just bulk volume. The primary goal for the farmer is to achieve optimal stem length and fiber integrity, which determines the final market value of the crop. Being a local variety, it is well-adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of Ukraine, allowing for predictable performance.

• Field Management: Success with this variety depends on precise sowing density, which ensures even stem development—a critical factor for industrial fiber processing.
• Harvesting Efficiency: Kivika is well-suited for standard flax-pulling machinery, ensuring that the stalks remain intact and the fiber quality is preserved during the retting and harvesting process.
• Commercial Viability: By integrating this variety into the crop rotation, farms can effectively meet the technical requirements of textile plants looking for specific fiber quality standards.

For operations aimed at supply chain stability within the light industry sector, choosing Kivika represents a strategic balance between agronomic resilience and market-driven product standards.
