Libra

Libra is a flaxseed variety developed by Limagrain Europe (France) and included in the State Register since 2015. The plant features a medium stem length of about 52 cm and medium maturity period. Petal color changes from blue-violet in bud stage to light blue when fully developed, and the stigma at the base is white. Seeds of the Libra variety have a brown color and medium-sized capsules with fringed false septa. The average 1000-seed weight is 6.1 g, oil content reaches 44.5%, and protein content is 22.8%.

The Libra variety is characterized by high yield, which varies depending on region: from 5.2 t/ha in Akhalinsky region to 17.9 t/ha in East Kazakhstan. It exhibits resistance to diseases, pests, lodging, and drought, confirmed by a maximum rating of 5 points. Due to these qualities, the variety does not lodge and is suitable for cultivation in various regions, including Akhalinsky, East Kazakhstan, Kostanay, and North Kazakhstan regions.
