Southern Night

Flax variety 'Southern Night' is a high-quality oilseed crop developed by the Institute of Oil Crops of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. This variety is characterized by stable yield and high oil content in seeds, reaching 44.0-45.5%. Plant height is approximately 52-55 cm, and the vegetation period lasts from 86 to 90 days, classifying the variety as mid-season with a prolonged growing cycle.

Plants have large light-purple flowers and brown seeds with a 1000-seed mass of 7.0-8.0 grams. Seed yield varies from 1.6 to 1.8 tons per hectare. The variety exhibits high drought and lodging resistance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions.

'Southern Night' is recommended for cultivation in all soil-climatic zones of Ukraine, particularly in forest-steppe and steppe zones. Due to its characteristics, this variety is widely used in the production of oil, dyes, pharmaceuticals, and other products, highlighting its versatility and economic value.
