Flax Batist

Batist Flax: Focused on High-Quality Fiber

In the Ukrainian agricultural landscape, the 'Batist' flax variety stands out as a specialized solution for the textile industry. Developed by the National Scientific Center 'Institute of Agriculture of the NAAS', this fiber flax variety is engineered to maximize the yield of long, high-quality fiber, which remains the most valuable commodity in the linen market.

Key Characteristics and Strategic Value

The defining feature of 'Batist' is its impressive height of 280 cm. This morphological trait is the primary driver of its industrial value. Unlike dual-purpose varieties, 'Batist' focuses its biological resources almost entirely on fiber production.

• Specialization: Designed specifically for textile production, providing a superior yield of long, hackled fiber compared to common varieties.
• Genetics: Developed by leading Ukrainian researchers, the variety is well-adapted to the local climate, ensuring reliable performance when agronomic standards are met.
• Management Needs: The variety requires strict adherence to soil fertility and nutrient management to hit its maximum height potential.

For whom is this variety optimal? 'Batist' is the best fit for professional growers who operate with established processing contracts. The main challenge lies in the variety's intensive requirements: failure to provide optimal growing conditions can limit the stem length, directly impacting the fiber quality and economic profitability. It is a professional-grade variety that rewards precision farming with top-tier industrial raw material.
