Flax Lancelot

Optimizing Flax Yields: Lancelot Herbicide Efficiency

Effective weed management is the cornerstone of profitable flax production. The 'Lancelot' herbicide, developed by the National Scientific Center 'Institute of Agriculture of NAAS' (Ukraine), is a specialized tool engineered to handle broad-leaved weed pressure without compromising crop health.

Field Application and Strategy

The primary utility of this product lies in its selective action, allowing farmers to eliminate competitive weeds during the critical early stages of flax development. It is specifically formulated to bypass the physiological sensitivity of flax, ensuring the plant continues to develop without growth stunting.

• Targeting Stubborn Weeds: The formulation is highly effective against challenging species, including volunteer sunflower (including imidazolinone-tolerant varieties), thistle, and ragweed.
• Strategic Timing: Agronomists typically deploy Lancelot during the 'herringbone' growth stage of flax. Clearing the field at this point ensures the crop has the necessary space and resources to develop a dense canopy.
• Rotational Flexibility: The active ingredients are designed for efficient degradation, meaning Lancelot does not pose a carry-over risk for the following season's crops—a vital factor for high-intensity farming operations.

In real-world farming scenarios, Lancelot is favored for its consistent performance under varying environmental conditions. By suppressing weeds during the early vegetative phase, it not only secures yield potential but also facilitates smoother harvesting operations by reducing the amount of biomass debris and moisture in the flax crop at the time of threshing.
