Saunder's Lily

Saunder's Lily — this is a decorative perennial herbaceous plant, ideal for decorating gardens, mixed borders, and waterway banks. The flowers of this lily have a delicate orange hue with barely visible pink veins, appearing from late summer and potentially reblooming in autumn. The sword-shaped leaves form a dense basal clump that retains decorative appeal throughout the growing season. The plant is frost-tolerant and does not require winter protection, making it suitable for cultivation in various climates.

For successful cultivation, select sunny or lightly shaded areas with well-drained, fertile soil, preferably loam. Planting is best done in May or August; container-grown plants can be transplanted at any time. Dig a planting hole about 30 cm deep, fill with a mix of sand, compost, peat, ash, and phosphorus-potassium fertilizer. Carefully spread the roots, bury the root collar no more than 2-3 cm deep, then water thoroughly. Recommended planting density is 4-9 plants per square meter.

Care for this lily is simple: moderate watering during dry periods, and mulching with peat helps retain moisture and protects roots from overheating. In early August, apply phosphorus-potassium fertilizer to stimulate bright and abundant flowering in the next season. After flowering, it is recommended to cut back the stems, which promotes rejuvenation and maintains the plant's decorative appearance. Thanks to its bright flowers, frost resistance, and low maintenance, Saunder's Lily will be a wonderful addition to any garden.
