Daylily Rudanochka

Steppe Flora Aesthetics: Daylily 'Rudanochka'

The breeding program of the Kryvyi Rih Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine has gifted gardeners with a cultivar perfectly adapted to the regional climate. 'Rudanochka' is the result of years of scientific effort aimed at creating a hardy and visually striking daylily for outdoor cultivation.

Varietal Features and Visual Profile

The key feature of this daylily is its unique color transition. The flower diameter ranges from 10 to 12 cm, making the plant a notable focal point in any landscape design. The color palette, blending soft pink hues with deep burgundy undertones, creates an internal luminescence rarely seen in imported varieties that often fade in direct sunlight.

Why Choose 'Rudanochka'?

• Adaptability. Unlike finicky foreign hybrids, this variety behaves reliably in both full sun and partial shade, maintaining its pigment intensity.
• Resilience. The variety has been "hardened" by the Kryvyi Rih breeding school—a climate of hot summers and unstable springs has ensured high immunity to most fungal diseases.
• Aesthetics. The harmonious combination of burgundy and pink petals gives the flower a sophisticated look, suitable for both solitary planting and country or Provence-style mixed borders.

'Rudanochka' is the optimal choice for those who value local breeding proven by time. It is an ideal plant for a "low-maintenance" garden that requires minimal care while offering maximum decorative appeal. Its downside is limited availability compared to mass-market Dutch cultivars, but this is offset by the uniqueness of the planting stock and guaranteed survival in Ukrainian soil conditions.
