Lilac 'Marshal Sokolovsky' – a large shrub of medium height, reaching up to three meters in height and about one and a half meters in width. Its crown is semi-sprawling, giving the tree an elegant, almost airy shape. The plant increases the volume of its bush by approximately 30 centimeters each year, thanks to which it quickly fills space in the garden and becomes a noticeable element of the landscape.
A feature of this variety is large conical inflorescences ranging from twenty to twenty-five centimeters in height. Flowers are simple, asymmetrical, colored dark purple and can slightly fade to reddish shades if desired, creating a color transition effect. The size of an individual flower is about 3.5 cm, while the inflorescence itself is 20–25 × 18–20 cm. Leaves have a heart-shaped shape, a dark green tint, and a pointed tip.
'Marshal Sokolovsky' grows beautifully in sunny areas, preferring light, fertile, moist, and well-drained soils with high humus content. The plant is drought-resistant and frost-hardy to -30 °C (some sources note winter hardiness up to -40 °C), and is rarely affected by diseases and pests. Blooming lasts from May to June, during which the shrub remains a bright decoration of the garden. Due to its characteristics, it is often used to create living fences, plantings near gazebos, or in compositions with other plants, as well as for greening urban areas.
