Lilac 'Evening Moscow' is a medium-sized shrub reaching up to 2 m in height and approximately 1.5 m in width, with an annual volume growth of about 30 cm. The crown of medium density, formed by upright branches, creates a dense yet airy appearance. Leaves are dark green, sharply lanceolate in shape, matte and slightly wavy at the edges; they give the shrub a strict yet elegant character.
Large lilac inflorescences reach 20–25 cm in height and 18–22 cm in width. They have a broadly pyramidal shape with a drooping apex and consist of one pair of dense racemes, each containing 450 to 650 double-flowered blooms with a diameter of 2.0–2.5 cm. Flowers are lilac in color with a blue and sometimes brownish sheen, while buds are greenish-lilac. The aroma is strong, and the flower color fades slightly to a blueish-lilac hue, imparting a special tenderness to the evening look.
Flowering begins in mid-May (May 15–17) and continues into June, with a mass peak on May 20–25. The plant withstands pruning well, making it ideal for forming a hedge or designer compositions. 'Evening Moscow' prefers light, fertile, moist, and well-drained soils with high humus content; at the same time, the plant is drought-resistant and frost-hardy below –30 °C, making it suitable for a wide range of climatic conditions.
