The "Evening Vladivostok" variety is a promising specimen of broad-leaved lilac from domestic and foreign breeding, developed at the Botanical Garden-Institute of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It belongs to a collection of about 80 taxa, including more than 60 varieties, and is distinguished by a high potential for greening.
The bush reaches a height of approximately 2 m, and the crown has a rounded, spreading shape with a diameter of 1.0 to 1.5 m. The trunk is slightly curved, the bark is gray and finely cracked. Shoots are hairless, green, and rounded; leaves are medium-sized, glossy, dark green, broadly heart-shaped with a smooth edge. Buds are egg-shaped with a brownish tint, and petioles are medium-sized and hairless.
The lilac inflorescences contain from 120 to 150 flowers measuring 5–7 × 10–12 cm. Buds are dark purple-purple, while the flowers themselves have a purple-raspberry (lavender-raspberry) hue with a characteristic dark stripe in the center and lightening edges. Petals are rounded, slightly curved inward, with a pointed apex. The aroma is strong, and flowering lasts about 19 days with medium intensity. In autumn, leaves do not turn crimson, and the variety does not form fruit.
"Evening Vladivostok" is considered winter-hardy and disease-resistant, making it suitable for use in the conditions of a humid monsoon climate in the Primorsky and Khabarovsk regions. Due to its resistance to adverse conditions and good results in the garden, this variety is of interest both for professional landscape projects and for private gardeners.
