Lilac "Marshal Malinovsky" – a medium-sized shrub reaching up to 2.5 m in height and about 1.5 m in width, with an annual volume growth of approximately 30 cm. The leaves have a heart-shaped (inversely obovate) form, a green matte color, a smooth surface and a pointed tip.
Large double inflorescences reach 25 cm in diameter and consist of dense pairs of widely pyramidal panicles. Buds are of a purple-lilac shade with a slight purple tint, while the flowers themselves reach 3.5 cm and transition from purple-lilac to lilac-pink with a bluish nuance. Blooming lasts from mid-May to mid-June.
The variety is distinguished by stable frost hardiness (below -30 °C), good drought resistance and a low level of disease and pest damage. It grows well both in partial shade and in sun, preferring light, fertile, moist and well-drained soils with a high content of humus.
"Marshal Malinovsky" is widely used in landscape design: as hedges, individual shrubs or in group compositions with other lilac varieties, conifers and flowering shrubs. The plant is easy to prune, which allows forming the desired shape and maintaining compactness.
Care for it is simple: regular weeding, timely application of fertilizers and periodic pruning after flowering ensure healthy growth and abundant blooming.
