The 'Daughter Tamara' lilac is a two-year-old seedling of common lilac (Syringa vulgaris) that features a bright and expressive appearance. Bushes reach a height of up to 2.5 m, have a wide spreading crown and a pyramidal shape. The foliage is dark green, matte, and elongated, while the stems are also dark green, creating a harmonious contrast with the pink inflorescences.
Flowering begins in mid-May and continues into the late period. Inflorescences are large and lush, consisting of two pairs of widely pyramidal racemes measuring about 20 × 15 cm. The petals have a boat-shaped form with outwardly curled tips, creating an eye-catching appearance, and the flower has a bright pink hue. Buds are purple-lilac, fragrant, and give the bush a rich scent.
'Daughter Tamara' features good frost hardiness – it withstands temperatures down to -34 °C, making it undemanding in care. Heat and drought tolerance are at a medium level, however the plant tolerates open ground well in sunny or semi-shaded lighting. Thanks to these characteristics, the variety is suitable for greening of middle latitudes and fits perfectly into both decorative and practical landscape solutions.
