Lilac 50TH OCTOBER ANNIVERSARY

Aesthetics and Durability in Landscape Design

The '50-LETIE OKTYABRYA' lilac, developed by the experts at the Lomonosov Moscow State University Botanical Garden, stands as a prime example of breeding excellence, combining striking visual appeal with the robustness required for varying climatic conditions. Created with the involvement of V.D. Mironovich, this variety has secured its place in collections that prioritize consistent blooming and a distinctive appearance.

Practical Application in Garden Management

With a mature height of 1.5–2 meters, this compact cultivar is an ideal solution for small-to-medium gardens and for creating mid-height living hedges. Unlike taller varieties, '50-LETIE OKTYABRYA' does not require vast space and avoids excessive shading, making it highly versatile for integration into existing landscape designs.

• Space Zoning: Its height makes the shrub an excellent tool for dividing garden areas without creating an impenetrable visual barrier.
• Accent Planting: The bicolored blossoms allow for the plant to serve as a focal point within floral arrangements.
• Urban Greening: The variety shows good resistance to urban environments, making it suitable for front gardens, public squares, and commercial landscape projects.

When planning your layout, ensure the plant is placed in well-lit areas with well-drained soil to achieve optimal flowering. Regular sanitary pruning after the blooming season not only maintains the shrub's neat shape but also encourages the development of flower buds for the following year. From an agronomic standpoint, the variety is low-maintenance; standard care for ornamental shrubs, including irrigation during dry spells and periodic fertilization, is sufficient to ensure the plant's health and longevity.
