Lettuce VEZUVIUS

Consistent Yields with Minimal Operational Risk

When selecting a leaf lettuce variety for early planting, operators prioritize speed of harvest and crop predictability. The VNIISSOK-bred "Vezuviy" solves the phytosanitary monitoring issue early in the season. With built-in genetic resistance to downy mildew and root rot, you significantly reduce the need for fungicide sprays—a huge advantage given the short pre-harvest interval required for leaf lettuce.

Operational Efficiency

This variety adapts seamlessly to various Russian climatic conditions. In practice, Vezuviy is highly predictable: its compact rosette structure allows for optimized plant density without compromising product quality. The leaf structure makes harvesting straightforward, requiring minimal sorting because the plant maintains a consistent, vibrant green color and uniform shape.

• Protection: High threshold of resistance to common soil-borne pathogens, including root rot.
• Throughput: Early maturity allows for maximum utilization of greenhouse or open-field space throughout the season.
• Cost Management: Eliminating the need for intensive chemical interventions simplifies certification and lowers the cost per unit.

If you are looking for a variety that is forgiving in intensive growing setups and doesn't require daily monitoring for fungal outbreaks, this variety is a reliable asset for your crop rotation.
