Description Caipira
Caipira lettuce is a Batavia-type leaf lettuce developed by the Dutch company Enza Zaden. This variety is distinguished by its early maturity — from sowing to harvest, it takes approximately 45-55 days, allowing it to be grown from early spring until autumn in open beds, and year-round in protected soil. The plant forms a rosette about 20 cm in diameter and up to 25 cm tall, with an average weight of about 260 grams per plant. The leaves are bright green, crisp, slightly blistered, and tightly adhering, giving the product an attractive market appearance.

Caipira is highly productive — up to 3-4 kg of product can be harvested per square meter. The variety is resistant to bolting, leaf edge scorching, and several diseases, ensuring stable and high-quality yields. Thanks to these characteristics, the lettuce maintains a fresh and appealing appearance for a long time, making it popular for fresh produce trade. Seeds can be sown directly into open ground or into special seedling trays.

For successful cultivation of Caipira, regular care is required, including timely watering, soil loosening, weed removal, and fertilization approximately once a month. The variety quickly gains mass and size, without stretching during summer, enabling consistent and high-quality yields throughout the season. Caipira is suitable for cultivation in open ground, but it is not suitable for organic farming.
