Lettuce WEBBER

Reliable Early Harvest with Rijk Zwaan Genetics

The «Webber» lettuce variety from Rijk Zwaan is a precision tool for growers focusing on efficient, high-yield early production. In professional horticulture, this variety is prized for its balance between early maturity and robust field performance, making it a staple for those planning a high-turnover cropping schedule.

Pathogen Protection and Field Performance

The primary challenge in early-season lettuce production is the pressure from pathogens due to high humidity and temperature swings. «Webber» provides a distinct advantage through its strong genetic resistance to Downy Mildew (Bremia lactucae) and Lettuce Mosaic Virus (LMV). For the modern farm, this translates to predictability: you are investing in a crop that maintains quality without the need for excessive chemical intervention, protecting your profit margins from the start.

Operational Benefits

• Streamlined Logistics: The compact leaf lettuce architecture and small rosette size make this variety easy to harvest, pack, and transport, catering to both the fresh-cut market and traditional retail.
• Production Efficiency: Due to its early maturation, «Webber» allows farmers to optimize space utilization, making it perfect for rapid-rotation cropping systems.
• Reduced Input Costs: With natural field resistance to major diseases, growers can effectively reduce their spray program, aligning with integrated pest management (IPM) practices and meeting market demand for cleaner produce.

«Webber» is designed for professional operations that require consistency. The deep green foliage retains its visual appeal, and the structure of the plant ensures that the lettuce reaches the consumer in prime condition. By choosing this Rijk Zwaan variety, you are investing in a reliable product that simplifies the management of early-season production cycles.
